Velowave Ghost E-Bike Review: A Commuter’s Dream?

I recently took the plunge and purchased the Velowave Ghost e-bike, and I’m thrilled with my decision! The bike arrived impeccably packaged and was a breeze to assemble. The frame is sturdy and well-crafted, providing a comfortable ride that’s perfect for my daily commute to work. I’ve already clocked over 100 miles, and I’m loving every minute of it!

The bike’s power is impressive, with all modes delivering a smooth and seamless ride. However, I did encounter a minor issue with the rear brake, which had a pulsing sensation when applied. A quick investigation revealed that the rotor thickness varied from 1.8mm to 2.18mm. I swapped it out for a Shimano 180, 6-bolt rotor, and the problem was solved!

One thing to note is that some components, like the fork and calipers, are unbranded, which may raise concerns about future repair and maintenance parts availability. Nevertheless, considering the price point, I believe this bike offers exceptional value for the money.

The larger 27.5″ wheels and quality tires provide a silky-smooth ride, absorbing terrain with ease and confidence. The handlebar layout is intuitive, with wide handlebars and a simple yet effective computer screen. The walk mode is a game-changer in tough terrain, and the throttle mode quickly gets you up to 20mph, while the 5-level pedal assist takes you up to 28mph in no time!

Overall, I’m thoroughly enjoying my Velowave Ghost e-bike experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a reliable and affordable commuter bike.
