Building or converting a DIY electric bicycle requires precise matching across electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems. Volt-Matrix eliminates guesswork through four levels of deterministic validation:

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if an e-bike battery is compatible with my controller?
Two critical criteria must match: Nominal Voltage and BMS Current Rating. Your controller's rated voltage range must accept your battery's nominal voltage (e.g. 48V pack for a 48V-rated controller). Additionally, the battery's BMS continuous discharge rating (in Amperes) must be equal to or higher than the controller's peak battery current limit.
Can I use a 52V battery with a 48V controller?
In many cases, yes, but you must verify the controller's internal capacitor voltage rating. A fully charged 52V battery reaches 58.8V. If your 48V controller uses 63V capacitors, it will safely handle 52V. If the controller has 60V-rated capacitors, connecting a full 58.8V charge will trigger high-voltage lockout or blow internal MOSFETs.
What causes Error 30 communication faults on e-bike displays?
Error 30 indicates a serial communication protocol mismatch between the LCD display and the motor controller. Controllers manufactured by Kunteng (KT) only communicate with KT-LCD displays. Bafang systems use proprietary UART (round green 5-pin Higo) or CAN bus protocols. Mixing brands results in communication failure.
